“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller

And so does social media so you’ve got to keep your eyes and ears out for changes and updates to the platforms you’re using or you’re going to be left behind.

For example, over the last week or so a lot of Instagram users noticed that the little icon that allows you to choose multiple images to post in a carousel had disappeared (it’s back now).

And I was one of those users.

I was going to post a selection of photos – I think of one of the cats – and the option wasn’t there! So, assuming it was a glitch in the app,  I resigned myself to sharing just one pic and got on with the rest of my day.

Later on I was spending some time in Facebook groups and someone had posted asking where the option was. Hmm, I thought, obvs not just me then.

It appeared that a recent update meant that option had been removed and a new way of selecting multiple photos needed to be identified (I’m not sure if this was always an option but hey ho).

The Workaround

To select multiple images put your finger on a photo and hold it down.

Circles will then appear on all photos in your library and you can choose the ones you want to post. Once chosen they will be numbered. You can choose up to 10.

Then continue to post as normal.

What about now?

The little icon is back now, but it’s something that is useful to be aware of just in case it disappears again and in case you find it easier or quicker to select multiple images this way.
